Standing on the shoulders of the two previous Cichlid Science conferences (Basel, 2010 and Leuven, 2012) Bangor University is proud to announce that the 2013 cichlid conference will be held in Bangor, located between the Irish Sea and the Snowdonia mountain range on the beautiful North Walean coast. The conference will last three days, 10th - 12th September, with an informal registration and social evening on the 09th and a conference dinner on the 11th.

Past Cichlid Science conferences have brought together recent research from established academics, post-docs, PhD and master's students. Started by the Salzburger group (Basel) in 2010 the conferences have been a great success, providing a welcoming environment for young researchers to present their work to the academic cichlid community. The overall aim is to bring together all aspects of research based on the well known and charismatic cichlid fish family. Previous conferences have included a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to); phylogentics, behaviour, conservation and genomics.

The conference language is English.

The price of the conference will be £100 per participant, this includes meals on the second and third evening, lunches and tea/coffee. We will contact everyone shortly regarding how to pay this fee. Please look out for further details on this web site.

We look forward to seeing you all in the Autumn,
Kind Regards,
Your organising committee
