Gettting to Bangor

Although deep into north Wales and on the coast, Bangor is easy to get to.

There are many flights available to Manchester or Liverpool and the London Airports for reasonable prices from companies such as Easy Jet and Ryan Air. There are more expensive flights via British Airways or other bigger companies.

After arriving in the UK there is a reliable and frequent train service to Bangor, look out for trains to "Holyhead". Trains can be expensive in the UK if you buy a ticket during the journey, however the prices are much cheaper if you book in advance, particularly if you book two months in advance. There are also numerous coach or bus trips available which are possibly cheaper.

Car hire is of course available throughout the UK and if you require a car park permit at the School of Biological Sciences then please let us know in advance and we will arrange this for you. There will ample parking available during the conference period. There is no motorway directly into Bangor, however there are good "A" roads which are only a little slower. The route is well signposted and the departments post code is available on the website if you are using GPS.
